Elysian Fields is a venture into hauling various pieces of protective equipment into theatres and other community spaces. Everyone is welcome to try them on and have their picture taken. Sometimes this would be set up straight after we perform 'Rise to Vertex', a show which centres around us wearing sports armour to emulate heroic traits.

 

The activity gives people a chance to actively handle, wear and talk about real equipment instead of seeing it from behind a restrictive barrier or through a television screen. Everything that we collect together has been worn in different professional contexts. It is used, scuffed and was most likely quite pricey when it was new.
